Family Photography
My love of family photography has only been amplified since we’ve been travelling and met as many wonderful families as we have. I absolutely love giving these adventurous souls a documentation of their time whether it’s a new place or somewhere they now call home.
A snapshot of their adventures, their family connection and the landscape they are in.
How does it work?
We spend 60-90 minutes together in the place of your choosing
What’s your style like?
My approach is simple: relaxed, authentic and natural family photography.
80% of the way I work is unposed - that means no manic grinning or forcing the little ones into funny poses. The other 20% makes sure I get multiple shots with the whole family in.
I focus on genuine relationships and connections between the family members rather than contriving situations.
Capturing children in the fleeting moment of how they are that day is really important to me, it’s not about perfection at all. It’s all about documenting family dynamics, siblings playing together and photographing all the energy, love and spontaneous moments that go on.
Involving myself in the shoot and the family is paramount to capture natural images. Playing with a toy trains, getting dirty outdoors, being chief-taster of their grotty garden pies, making up silly stories, or indulging in a game of hide and seek… anything that puts children at ease with me and my camera.
"Just do what you normally do" Flo said - so my 4 year old jumped on her! Un-phased, she played hide and seek with us, Grandma's footsteps and generally ran around with the children, no questions asked. By some miracle she also got us all looking in the same direction and smiling!
A real pleasure of a morning and lasting memories to boot - a total win!”
