TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY POST - SLOVENIA

Slovenia -14.jpg

February saw me head to Slovenia with my ma for a little city / mountain break! Here it is in all its grainy, rainy film glory. I absolutely loved this trip and really felt like we squeezes every last bit out of out of our time here. We had just over 24 hours in Ljubljana and managed to visit the castle, see a puppet show, eat an amazing pizza dinner, ride bikes all about in the rain, see the markets, take a walking tour, visit Plečnik’s house and admire many of his wonderful buildings AND eat at some cute cafes! Then we hired a car and drove to Lake Bohinj where we stayed in a gorgeous apartment for two nights and explored the many walks and waterfalls around the area. We finished with a boat trip out on Lake Bled (mum rowed, I ate my sandwich) and a few hours at the spa before catching our flight back. We found the whole vibe and way of life in Slovenia to be really wonderful, the city was heavily pedestrianised which gave it a lovely feel and their daily life is centred about strengthening community, the arts and being in nature - ideal!
